A big well done!

The Hedgehogs have loved having Taylor in their class this year.  He has worked hard, been kind to his friends, been helpful to the staff and generally been a fabulous Hedgehog.  Keep up the good work in Squirrels next year!

Churning butter

TJ, Lexie, Poppy, Callum, Christian and Emily have learned how to make butter.  They started with cream and shook it, and shook it, and shook it, and ... after a very long time and a lot of shaking, they made some delicious butter.  Well done, folks!

The Norfolk Show

Oliver, Enzo, Zak, Emiah and Achchira really enjoyed their time at the Norfolk Show.  These detailed accounts of all they did and saw show how very busy their day was.  What brilliant descriptions they have written!

Once upon a time ...

We have all been learning about the Gingerbread Man in our literacy/science week and Tyler and Zac have drawn some beautifully detailed story maps to explain what happened.  Great sounding out and spelling, chaps!

What happened next?

Danny and Lola have had great fun making up some very funny tricks for their circus performers.  They have written a sentence to describe what is happening ... all by themselves!  What very clever people you are!

Story starters

The circus is coming!

I'll bet if you saw this poster, you would want to go to see the circus!  Tyler has made this poster to tell everyone that the circus is coming to Roydon - and he wrote all the words by himself!  Well done, superstar!

Triple Achiever

Ollie has been working so hard this year, this is the third time he has been a Special Achiever. This time he has been doing some tricky subtraction calculations... and got them all correct. Super maths star!

I've lost my mum!

Thomas and Zak have been learning about jungles and have read the story 'Monkey Puzzle' in class.  Each of them has written their own version of the sad tale, and they have worked all by themselves.  They have even used some adjectives!  Great work, lads.

Dear Captain Scott

 

Tyler, Lola, Scarlett and Zak have each written a letter to Captain Scott, asking him questions about his adventure and letting him know that they are ready to join him!  They have listened so carefully to the sounds in the words that they wanted to write - great sounding out, folks! 

A very sad story

Achchira and Luna have been listening really well to the story of Scott and his Antarctic adventures.  They could tell the story from the pictures, used really grown-up vocabulary, AND listened so carefully to all the sounds in the words they wanted to write that you can read the whole story from beginning to end.  Well done, ladies!

Missing!

Thank goodness for Oliver, Rheuben and Caleb!  When the guinea pigs went missing, we needed some posters to ask everyone to keep a look out for them.  Because of these posters, the guinea pigs were found safe and sound.  Great sounding out, chaps!

Stick Man

Mrs Birkinshaw was very impressed by Oliver's drawing of a scene from Stick Man.  He has included lots of details that the story describes to show that he has listened really carefully.  What a clever picture!

Little stars!

 

Did you see these amazing children in their Christmas play last week?  They sang and spoke so clearly you could hear every word.  How brave of them to get up in front of such a huge audience - we are very proud of you all!

Doubling genius!

Tyler was only asked to make some towers to represent different numbers.  Instead this cleverclogs made towers to show how to double numbers and what the answers would be.  Super thinking Tyler!

Challenge after challenge!

What a maths superstar Leo is!  After finishing his work (and getting it all correct!), he wasn't keen to take on another challenge ... but he did, and then another, and he got all those right too!  You are a maths genius, young man!

I spy from my London Eye!

Just look at Danny's amazing picture of the London Eye!  I knew exactly what it was as soon as I saw it.  He has drawn it really carefully and included lots of detail.  He even had a go at labelling it.  What a cleverclogs!

Swimming like fish!

Emiah and Enzo have been busy in the swimming pool again.  Emaih has been practising in the big pool and can swim 25 metres, and Enzo can swim 5 metres without his arm bands.  Well done superstars!

Off to the Arctic

Thomas is off to the Arctic, but don't worry - he has made a superb list of the things he needs to keep him safe and warm.  He has listened really carefully for all the sounds he can hear in the words he wants to write, and you can read every one of them.  Take care on your travels, Thomas!

Amazing adjectives

Emiah is AMAZING at using adjectives to describe herself and the things she is good at!  One of the adjectives she used was 'clever', and all this fantastic writing shows she is just that.  Well done, young lady!
